There are several reasons that you might encounter false alerts.  A few include:

  1. Stores and businesses with automatic door openers or other systems that use radar.
  2. Cars that us radar for lane assistance and anti-collision systems.
  3. Interference from various electronic devices or systems in the area.

It's worth noting that oftentimes, customers will turn ON every band available on the detector in a "best to be covered" mindset.  However, scanning for bands or systems that may not be used in your area will increase the level of false or ghost alerts you will receive, as this reduces filtering.

Our advice is as follows:

Perform a Factory Reset.

Update the detector to the latest firmware. (You’ll find step-by-step instructions in the user manual or in our online support knowledge base). Update Your Device

After the reset and update, most customers find the issue completely resolved. If the problem continues, visit this article for more in depth information on settings, and how to optimize performance.  How to Configure Your Detector
