Units with Supported Software
Serial numbers include the first two digits that all units of this model should start with. Certain units had multiple revisions that resulted in multiple beginning serial numbers, some of which may have supported different versions of Detector Tools.

Beltronics Radar Detectors
A comprehensive list of compatible detectors is not available. If you need to update Defender Database on a Beltronics detector, please download Beltronics Detector Tools Pro, then Detector Tools if the Pro version does not recognize your detector.
NOTE If your detector is listed in the "Units with No Updates Available" section above, it will not work with either software.

The following software will not offer a firmware update for any of the models listed below; however, it can be used to update the latest version of the Defender Database onto compatible models listed.

Dashboard Cameras
M1 Smart Dash Cam
Instructions for applying the update.
- Connect the dash cam to your computer using the included USB to micro USB cable.
- Power on the dash cam.
- The camera will be listed as ESCORT M1 in your computer.
- Download the update file above and save it somewhere you will remember it. It will be called FW96658A.bin.
- (BIN File)
- NOTE You do not need to open this file. Copy/paste or drag the update file (FW96658A.bin) into the root directory of the ESCORT M1 folder.
- NOTE The file name must beFW96658A.binexactly in order to update the firmware. Ensure that the file does not have (1) or similar before the .bin extension.
- Disconnect the dash cam from the computer.
- The dash cam will turn off.
- Reconnect the dash cam with the RJ-11 power cord.
- The dash cam will turn on and automatically update the firmware.
- You will hear several beeps and see the LED flashing red.
- Once the beeps and flashing stop, the firmware update is complete.
- The firmware update file will be deleted automatically.
- NOTE This update will erase the custom Wi-Fi password for the M1's Wi-Fi Hotspot and reset it to the default password: 12345678
(This version of firmware fixes the issue where M1 does not turn on and a detector is turned on for some vehicles with a special situation.)
